  • Jan 17 - NEW PUBLICATION : After 5.5 years our research on amygdala neurons processing pain affect is published in Science !

  • Jan 2 - And. We. Are. OPEN. FOR. SCIENCE! Dr. Corder and lab manager, Lauren Marconi, have begun the initial set-up phase of the lab.


  • Dr. Corder has been invited to give a talk at the 57th ACNP Annual Meeting as part of the panel, Novel in Vivo Imaging and Virtual Reality Paradigms to Dissect Neural Circuits Underlying Brain Plasticity

  • Signed an offer for tenure-track Assistant Professor at Penn, Perelman School of Medicine, joint-appointment in Depts of Psychiatry and Neuroscience

  • June - Our new review on opioids in the Annual Review of Neuroscience is released! Endogenous and Exogenous Opioids in Pain. This was a fun writing collaboration with Michael Bruchas and Daniel Castro, WashU. Link

  • June - Dr. Corder was featured in the San Jose Mercury News article, Young, brilliant and broke: Push to fund young biomedical scientists. Link

  • March - New article published in Neuron: "Functional divergence of delta and mu opioid receptor organization in CNS pain circuits", by Dong Wang et al. Our article was selected for the cover!


  • August - Best poster award and Travel Fellowship - Gordon Research Conference, Amygdala in Health & Disease

  • July - Gave a talk on our pain imaging project at the 2017 INRC in Chicago, and at the IASP Neuropathic Pain SIG in Gothenburg, Sweden. .

  • May - K99/R00 Pathway-to-Independence Award funded!

  • February - New publication in Nature Medicine: “Loss of mu opioid receptor signaling in nociceptors, and not spinal microglia, abrogates morphine tolerance without disrupting analgesia” by Greg Corder, Viv Tawfik, Dong Wang, Elizabeth Sypek et al. Our article was featured on the cover!
